Designing the Playbook for Founders
Challenge: Design a physical field guide for founders that could carry sixty principles from Vinod Khosla, be produced and delivered in six weeks, and feel like something worth returning to rather than a one-time read.
Approach: Partnered with Khosla Ventures Design Partner Michael Gough to develop the concept, layout system, and production approach for the book. We grounded every decision in the field guide concept, designing for real use over time rather than a polished presentation piece. That meant deliberate white space for annotation, a typographic system built on contrast and clarity, chapter imagery chosen for atmosphere rather than illustration, and a foldout poster designed to live on a wall long after the summit ended. We oversaw the full production process from paper selection and proofing through press checks and final assembly.

Result:
